Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said 31,000 Ukrainian fighters had been killed in the conflict with Russia, in an uncommon authority proclamation on military misfortunes supported during the two-year war.

At a public interview in Kyiv, Zelensky said: "31,000 Ukrainian fighters have kicked the bucket in this conflict. Not 300,000 or 150,000 or anything that Putin and his lying circle are saying. Yet, every one of these misfortunes is an incredible misfortune for us."
